Suspension

Front and rear shock absorbers are therefore one of the main parts of a car that ensure maximum safety for both the driver and the other passengers.

An important check on the shock absorbers of a car is carried out when it passes KTEO.

Checking with a shock absorber meter at the KTEO is mandatory and will definitely give you an idea of their condition. However, there are not a few times when the 2-year period between KTEOs is not enough. So you should be able to tell if your front-to-back shocks are in trouble by interpreting a few simple signs.

These signs are:

  • If you strongly feel the vibrations in potholes and bumps.
  • If you lose steering when cornering.
  • If you feel the car going left or right when braking.
  • If you find any of the above, it would be a good idea to contact our workshop immediately in order to carry out a detailed check and replacement of your shock absorbers.

When do you need a front and rear shock absorber change?
Changing shock absorbers mainly depends on the conditions under which you drive your car.

Many times, the manufacturer of a car mentions this in the owner's manual.

A general rule that many people follow is to change shock absorbers every 80,000 to 100,000 kilometers.

However, as we mentioned, the shock absorbers of a car play an important role in the safety of the driver. Sometimes their wear and tear can come earlier and even not be visible from the outside at all.

So it would be good to check them at regular intervals and at fewer kilometers than those mentioned above.
